MAKNES CITY MOROCCO:
This city was chosen by Moulay Ismail as one of the Kingdoms imperial cities in 1672 as the capital of the empire in the 11th Century.
The city is surrounded by beautiful countryside and its arrangement. This city was talked of at the French court of King Louis XIV and both in Europe and Eastern Europe, hence becoming one of the most popular cities in the whole world.
Mekness offers perfect view of the Agdal basin as well as offering perfect monuments such as Sidisaid mosque, Bab El berdaine, Kouba El, Kyayatine, Dar Elmakhzen palace and Bab Jemaa, En Novar, Bab El mansour among others.
Maknes is surrounded by 25km ramparts having 6 major entrants city called Volubilis in the Roman city, which offers one of the most attractive cities in Morocco.
The city became convenient for settlement in the 4th Century and some kitchenware sculptures and mosaics can as well be seen around the city.
The splendour architectural designs give evidence of its past rich. Moulay Idriss city lies 27km away from Maknes near the Idrissi Dynasty Founder Sanctuary. In August and September each year, a pilgrimage is made in the city, where a large gathering of tribes from the regions come to celebrate in remembrance of the city saint.
When visitors return from Meknes, they believe to be from another planet and not forget the gold smith merchants, crafts men workmanship, souks hubbub friendship and wood sculptures.
The ancient city has never the less changed due to its surrounding engineers, and architectures. Visitors can rest in well-decorated gardens of go near the tomb of the city founder as well as in the Volubilis of the Roman city.

DAR JAMAI MUSEUM:
The museum was built in 1882 as a residence of Jamai Family such as Moulay el Hassan’s ministers (1873-1894). Then used as a military hospital by 1912, finally in 1920, it became a museum, thus the house had a number of different uses.
The museum is decorated with painted wood, sculptured plasters and a well-planted Andalusia garden with fruits and cypress.
The museum is a craft home for weaving, ironwork, wood work, metal work, leather working, brass and copper ware as well as being skilled in painting wood such as pamels, chest and mahogany by being most of the great activities of the craftsmen in Morocco.
Volubilis:
The city of Volubils was built around 40AD by the Romans, to control the North African region, which was occupied by the Jews, Greeks, Carthaginians and Barbers. When the Romans started to cultivate again, the region spread again in the 3rd and 4th Centuries.
In 217, the Volubilis was built to honour the Roman Emperor Caracalla. It was built in such away that the Victory Arch faces the main route.
The house of Ephebe provides shelter on his chariot for a remarkable mosaic depicting on the other side.
At sunset is the best time to visit Volubilis monuments.
